Visualization artifacts

When I zoom in a shape to the millimeters level, the visualization of shaded faces is all... jagged. I tried the suggestions in and also changing the values for the meshing, but the result is the same. Using Mesa3d yields the same results, so it does not seem to be a driver problem. It is even worse when I rotate the view because it "moves" (so it does not seem to be an issue with triangulation at all). In fact, it looks like it is composed of a bunch of planes nearly parallel to the view.

Here you can see what I am talking about:

Does anyone know why is that happening and how to solve it?

The following thread seems to answer my question.

It looks like I will have to change the ZSize along with the zooming to avoid such artifacts.
