GeomAbs_CurveType

hi
Is there a function which return the type of curve in an edge?
I'm trying to mesh every edge built from a BSpline and so far GeomAbs_CurveType is the closest I have found for the task as per the documentation. however I don't really know how to use it.
Help please!!!
