Open CASCADE Technology 6.6.0 beta version is available for testing

Dear Open Source Community,

OPEN CASCADE SAS is pleased to announce a beta version of Open CASCADE Technology (OCCT) 6.6.0. This version is provided for beta testing only. It is intended for those users who are interested in having a preview of the forthcoming release and are ready to test it and to invest their time in detection and reporting of problems.

Find the details on this release and links to download it on OCCT development portal [1].

If you detect any regressions or critical problems with this version in your applications, please report them either in this thread or in Mantis, and we will do our best to fix such problems before the release. The release is scheduled for the middle of April, therefore early reporting of the problems is appreciated.

Dear Forum supervisor,

I am testing 6.6.0 beta.

BRepAlgoAPI_Section HasAncestorFaceOn1 returned False on the boundary of a Face in the Shell.
6.5.x and 6.3 returned True.

Dear Hayashi,
I suggest you to register your issue in Mantis BagTracker Bugtracker which is available via the Collaborative portal - http://dev.opencascade.org/index.php?q=home/get_involved .
Don't forget that the case should be reproducible, i.e. you should provide as shapes as scenario
to reproduce the case.

When building OCCT 6.6.0 beta with VS2010 for win32 I get the following error for TKOpenGl:
MSB8013: This project doesn't contain the Configuration and Platform combination of Release|Win32.

Did eanybody encounter similar problems or knows how to resolve it?

Compiling in debug mode was without problems.

Hello Timo,

Thank you for reporting a problem! The reason is extra symbol leaked into the project file during post-processing; it will not appear in final 6.6.0. To fix the problem manually, you may edit TKOpenGl.vcxproj file replacing 'Win3x2' by 'Win32'.
