iteration3d platform was launched in early 2025. Its slogan perfectly summarizes the project: Configure, download, print. It originated from the observation that a very large number of 3D models are available online, but with fixed parameters that cannot meet the diversity of user needs. Parametric modeling scripts, such as OpenSCAD for example, are also shared online, but not all users have the skills or the time to edit and configure a parametric modeling file. iteration3d aims to address these issues by publishing templates to which users can assign specific, customized values. The 3D models are thus generated on demand via build123d (based on OCCT), according to the user’s requirements.
These final STL/3MF 3D files are stored online and are available for download under various free or paid licenses.
The second key feature is this database of stored files, indexed according to the applied parameters. Each template has its own search engine, giving access to the 3D models produced through multi‑criteria searches.
The templates can be very basic, like an o‑ring, or more complex, like an enclosure with screw mounted lid, or multi‑file 3D models such as the multi‑compartment box with color‑coded collars.
This tool, available worldwide, is designed to be easily accessible and is intended for multi‑sector professionals facing 3D modeling and printing challenges.
